01/07: Sculpture Music, Chur (CH) “After completely rewiring my studio and going through the experience of some test recordings, I’m simply under the impression that I’m working in a totally new studio! I can use my equipment and tools in new ways. It’s really amazing! Some examples: The mix-down process has been simplified, and my sense of hearing remains fresh for longer stretches of time. And finally, when comparing the result with reference recordings, one can still recognize the original, personal sound, but now with the magic touch I was always looking for. There is no esoteric trick, the sound is simply there! Being able to mix the music creatively with the result being of so-called international sound quality standard is a blessing. There is no fiddling about till one’s ears are overloaded, just let it happen and be happy with the result – wonderful! Besides the great sound presence, I’m especially pleased with the lower, bass end. The painful droning, and annoying, unwanted resonating frequencies are finally gone. The only disadvantage: I can’t stand my older recordings anymore, after hearing things that were neglected and are now, in contrast, taken care of. The thing I was looking for is now here. These cables make my work considerably easier!” |

08/06: Skyline Tonfabrik, Düsseldorf (D) „ It was clear from the start that we’d only settle for the best ingredients for our new mastering studio. Despite, or actually because of, the fact that cables and other ‘details’ like power supply are often either treated as HiFi-madness or completely neglected, we decided to conduct a blind-fold test to get to the bottom of the matter. We tested 5 different cables of only one meter’s length. That’s not much, but it was enough to provide significant results. We played 3 different songs from our ½” tape recorder through each cable to the cutting system. We always used the same converters, levels and signal paths for the listening session, of course. The result was astonishing. The blind-fold test was conducted by 5 different sound engineers and musicians. Although the differences were small and psychoacoustic effects can’t be excluded, they were significant. And this with only a one meter cable-length on line level – imagine the difference a 30 m microphone cable would produce! There was no winner eclipsing the others in all disciplines (stereo image, bass definition, presence, sound intensity) with all pieces of music, but clear tendencies were detected. For us, VOVOX emerged to be the over-all winner. It offered an open, yet not sharp sound, and a warm, but not dim, low end. In addition, the stereo image was more 3-dimensional when compared to other cables’ images. We’re very satisfied with the result and don’t regret the investment, since our ‘darling’ is wired only once and we don’t settle for second-best.” |

All well-established cables available on the market were included. We were extremely amazed that for the first time, all those involved unanimously agreed. Wenn man mich fragt, ob ich einen Unterschied zu herkömmlichen Kabeln höre, lautet meine Antwort: "Ja, auf jeden Fall!".
Ich sag´s mal so, im ersten Moment, beim Reinstecken der Kabel, bis zu dem Moment, an dem man abhören kann, vergehen ja ein paar Sekunden. Man ist dann schon sehr heiss und will das absolute non-plus-Ultra haben und das bekommt man dann auch, pur!!!
Plötzlich entsteht ein präziseres Stereobild und eine hochauflösende Tiefenstaffelung. Speziell bei den sonorus Kabeln ist es so, dass sie den Bässen endlich den nötigen Space geben, sie tun das, was sie sollen, nämlich Druck und Punch ohne die oberen Frequenzbereiche muffig klingen zu lassen.
Ich habe z.B. vor dem ersten Hören mit den neuen sonorus Kabeln fünf Stunden lang Musik durch die Kabel geschickt und anschliessend die Aufnahmen mit den alten Kabeln in der selben Anschlusskette verglichen; ein Unterschied war direkt wahrnehmbar, sowie die Wellenformen auf dem Rechner eindeutig waren.
Durch die Kabel habe ich jetzt direkt die Möglichkeit schneller zu arbeiten. Die Routine wird durch das präzise Verhalten der Kabel unterstützt und dadurch komme ich auch viel schneller ans Ziel und habe mehr Zeit für weitere Projekte.
